We are finally back in the states! We have been back just over two months and we are so glad to be home. It has been a busy few months as we get settled in. We did some traveling to visit family and friends, had Addie's baptism, and bought a house! We were very fortunate and Rob had several job offers immediately after leaving Okinawa. He accepted a great job at Langley with BAE Systems. Although it is a bit different than what he was doing in the Army, it is still imagery analysis.
We are very excited about the townhouse we are building in Haymarket, VA. It is still under construction and should be finished by early December so hopefully we will be in our new home by Christmas. Meredith is 2 1/2 this month and Addie will turn 1. They are both doing really well and are growing so quickly. Addie has a fun personality and like her sister, is always moving and loves climbing. She seems ready to walk but so far won't set off on her own. She will cruise using the furniture or while holding your hand so I don't expect it to be much longer until she is running in the opposite direction of her sister. For now nothing makes her happier than climbing the steps and then sliding back down on her stomach. She was a cute chef for halloween, inspired by her love for food. Meredith becomes more curious and strong willed by the day and at least a dozen times a day says, "I want to do it myself!." She decided she didn't like halloween and didn't want any part of dressing up. We decided to try trick-or-treating because we thought she would like it. We were right---candy was involved! She still didn't like the costumes but developed a love for candy corn. Most of the time she is very sweet and I love to hear her say, "do you need any help?," or, "would you like to join me?" For both, the weather change seems to be the biggest adjustment. They miss the warm Okinawa weather! They both hate wearing socks and prefer to have on as little clothes as possible. The first time I put Meredith in a turtleneck she told me she was being choked! I am sure they will like hats, coats and gloves even less.
If we haven't seen you yet, hopefully it won't be much longer!
